Our Network
Ai WebSolutions maintains a virtual private server located in Chicago, IL. Ai WebSolution's network is part of the carrier-neutral Equinix Chicago Data Center. Because of this, Ai WebSolutions has access to all the major carriers without the need for local loop circuits. Our servers also have access to redundant optical carrier (OC) connections to some of the largest carriers in the world which in turn gives us access to the best peer to peer networking schemes in the industry.
In addition there are also significant benefits to the architecture and setup of the data center. for instance:
- Electrical Power: An Uninterruptible Power Supply, or UPS is on site to provide power in the event of a public utility power failure or shortage. UPS also helps to provide stable power to prevent damage to equipment from electrical spikes and brownouts.
- Server Environment: The environment that the servers are located in is cooled by air conditioner 24/7 to prevent over heating of equipment. The racks of equipment are also organized and arranged in a neat fashion to prevent confusion and crossed network cables. The fire detection and suppression system is dual monitored (smoke/heat) and will discharge only in the area detected to prevent overspray and damage where there is no danger. The building is built with no basement with tightly sealed conduits to prevent excess moisture and maintain a clean air environment.
- Network Neutrality:The network traffic/bandwidth through the center can be switched almost instantaneously in the event of a failure on one carrier network. If the Level 3 network fails, there are other backbone networks (i.e. Sprint, UUNET, AT&T, Global Crossing) already connected to the data center to provide redundant connections to the internet. In addition the physical layout of the cables within the data center allow for scalable network connections that can adjust to the flow of traffic at any time.
- Physical Security: The data center is physically manned 24/7 365. All access doors and server cages have biometric hand readers to prevent unauthorized access. Video security, bulletproof walls, and concrete re-enforced bollards/planters all provide additional layers of security. The building is also monitored by a motion detection video & lighting with a silent alarm system that will contact appropriate law enforcement personnel in the event needed.
